Igniting Community Connections

Written by Founder and CEO, Sara Potler LaHayne

Since our founding, Move This World has partnered successfully with educators to nurture a positive school climate that has increased student learning and professional growth. As we have trained entire school ecosystems including school leaders, districts and families, we are continuously reminded of the many overlapping communities within all of our lives.

Increasingly we have been approached by various companies and organizations who want to integrate our approach into their communities. We’re proud to address this growing need for empathy education and conflict transformation outside the realm of traditional learning environments. We are empowering service corps of young leaders, budding health care professionals at universities, and companies seeking to inspire empathetic leadership in their employees.

In 2014, we are excited to launch a new initiative, Connected Communities, which will supplement our existing programs by connecting diverse communities. This week alone we’re hosting an event between SumAll, a data analytics company, and New York City Public School 315. Stay tuned about how you can get involved with Connected Communities!

The commonality of our diverse partnerships is the emphasis on human connection and authentic relationships. When empathetic interactions occur in the school, workplace, or home, we feel comfortable taking risks, exposing vulnerability, improving interpersonal and group dynamics, and building our sense of self. Thank you for sharing in our journey, believing in us empathically and actively, and empowering us to succeed. Please continue to help Move This World thrive and donate to change lives and transform communities.
