Toolkit: Family Engagement

Research has shown that parent engagement in a child’s education and school community has a positive effect on students’ achievement. This positive relationship exists regardless of race, ethnicity, parents’ level of education, or socio-economic status.

Engaging families helps strengthen emotional learning and equips students with lifelong skills that carry on outside the classroom. By creating opportunities for children to identify and express their emotions at home and at school, students are able to practice these skills across settings. Learn more about the benefits of parental involvement in education.
